Grounding or Vitamin G

I’m in my yard. Technicolor yellow and orange leaves gift me with autumn’s abundance as they all but sparkle with color. When I shuck my shoes to stand upon the winter green grass, I breathe deep. I’m Grounding, getting my Vitamin G, or Earthing as it is also called. I’ve been hearing more and more about the benefits of Grounding, so I delved into some research. Is there anything to the claims that practicing Grounding can improve sleep, aid in producing vitality, alleviate pain, speed up the recovery process, and more? Should I give it a try? After all, I’ve been starting my mornings with the ancient practices of yoga and meditation for decades; what have I got to lose?

Many books claim that Grounding or Earthing is the most important health discovery ever. A quick search of books on the topic reveals books called, Earthing by Clinton Ober, Stephen T. Sinatra, M.D., a cardiologist, The Earth Prescription: Discover the Healing Power of Nature with Grounding Practices for Every Season by Laura Koniver, M.D, and more, explain their thoughts on grounding, or directly connecting our bodies to the earth can help us gain potential benefits.

The Mayo Clinic is beginning research on the possible health benefits of grounding. These books agree that merely being in nature integrates a positive health practice into your life, and that taking it a step further by Earthing connects you directly to the healing power of the Earth.

Our planet is responsible for feeding us, providing us with water, and, now, many say, providing us with additional healing power. Not much research has been done on the claim that humans can absorb Earth’s electrons. ‘Electrical you’, a human’s bio-electrical nature, isn’t something we are often led to ponder.

What are the claims about Grounding saying about ‘electrical humans’ and the primordial natural energy that emanates from Earth? It is said that our planet is a six sextillion metric ton battery that’s recharged regularly by solar energy, along with lightning and the deep core’s molten mass. WebMD’s website explains that there are studies surrounding grounding. They say, “Grounding is the practice of connecting to the earth. Your body is thought to absorb electrons naturally from the earth.”

Should we reconnect to the miracle of Mother Earth? What do we have to lose? What if it is ‘only’ the placebo effect or the power of suggestion that leads us to well-being? We all agree that better health equals more happiness in our lives. Make tracks, leave footprints, and step up to a new idea in health! Take off your shoes and connect with this free power source. Go ahead!
