The dog park at Hammond Park will be temporarily closed beginning May 18, 2026, as construction continues on the Hammond Park Improvement Project. The closure during this phase of the project is necessary to allow contractors to safely complete planned upgrades and final improvements within the dog park area.
The dog park is one component of a larger effort to improve Hammond Park’s recreational amenities, accessibility, and overall visitor experience. Improvements within the dog park area include upgraded fencing, new site amenities, accessibility enhancements, landscaping, drainage improvements, and other infrastructure upgrades designed to create a safer and more enjoyable environment for residents and their pets.
To ensure public safety and allow construction activities to proceed efficiently, the dog park will remain closed throughout the duration of this phase of the project. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 2026.
The Hammond Park Improvement Project represents the County’s ongoing investment in enhancing community parks and public spaces for residents and visitors alike. Once completed, the improvements will provide long-term benefits through improved functionality, accessibility, and usability of the park facilities.
