Lake County Music Guide – 3.27.24

Like the cliché says, “April showers bring May flowers” – and it’s only the last week of March! Sadly, this week has the promise of a few outdoor musical events, but the forecast says it’s gonna rain. I just filled 3 green containers in the last three weeks with weeds, and I don’t want to encourage them to grow back, so let’s hope it’s wrong. Here’s the live music schedule for the week of 3/26 through 4/1…

The Hopland Tap ‘n’ Grill has pretty good food, a full bar and on Wednesday afternoon, they’ll bring you the exciting Boogie Woogie piano music from Wendy DeWitt from 4 to 6:00. Then on Saturday, you can expect the “all killer – no filler” Grateful Dead musical experience from Pete Sawyer and the Left-Handed Monkey Wrench Gang on Saturday starting at 7:00. Might be worth the trek over the Hopland Grade…

Andre’s Lounge in Lakeport will feature on Wednesday evening piano music with Nicky Hind from 7 to 9:00. Then on Friday why not check out Andre and Friends as they run through their repertoire from 8 to 11:00. Come see what Andre’s done with the place…

Back in Kelseyville, the Saw Shop Public House has three evenings of live music, starting with Thursday when the LC Diamonds rock the backyard from 6 to 9:00. Then on Friday, you can get your USRDA of 1,4,5 when Dave Broida and Blues Farm unleash their 12-bar magic from 6 to 9:00. Need more? On Saturday evening Johnny Tsunami and the Hurricanes will blow the roof off… well… I guess there is no roof in the backyard, but you get what I mean. Making reservations would be a good idea…

Up in that nice little town of Nice, The Boathouse and Stowaway Grill will present on Friday the fun music of the LC Diamonds starting at 5:00. Then on Sunday afternoon come check out the Boathouse debut of AudioSoul from 2 to 6:00. Take advantage of excellent food, a full bar and some great music – be prepared to dance both events…

Let’s head back to Kelseyville on Friday where at the Smiling Dogs Tasting Room you can get a taste of New Orleans from the Andy Rossoff Quintet from 6:30 to 9:30. Enjoy a glass or bottle of SDR wines, then take in some of the happiest music you’re ever going to hear…

Let’s go lakeside in the Riviera to Richmond Park Bar & Grill where singer/guitarist Bob Lucatorto offers a medley of Modern Country and Pop tunes on Friday starting at 7:00. Enjoy a meal and a couple cocktails while Bob strums. It’s always a party at The Park!…

Twin Pine Casino in Middletown is happy to bring back, by popular demand, the Country music sensations Ariel Jean Band, playing Friday and Saturday nights from 9 to 1:AM. And there’s a bit of local flavor as Cobb resident John Gormley plays bass with the AJB.

On Saturday evening at the Riviera Hills lounge in the Riviera, come get your RAWK ON with Still Kick’n from 6 to 10:00. Great views, good food, full bar and a dance floor – ‘nuff said…

In Lakeport at the Wine in the Willows, across the street from Library Park, come enjoy local wines, local brews, local art and local music from Duo Nouveau, (Dory Smith and Jim Williams), on Saturday evening from 6 to 8:00. I like this building; it reminds me what a hobbit house would look like. Check it out!…

At the Lakeport Hall, (Oddfellows – 310 N Main St), get ready to swing, folks, because the Death and Taxes Swing Band will have you shake, rattle and roll around the room starting on Saturday evening at 7:00. Put on your favorite ’50 attire and enjoy the dance…

And last but not least, the Blue Wing Saloon in Upper Lake will feature 6 shows in 5 days, starting with Friday when the Majide Trio take you back to simpler time of popular music from 6 to 8:00. Then on Saturday, pianist Tom Ganoung will tinkle the ivories while you dine from 6 to 8:00. If breakfast is on your mind, the BW’s Sunday Brunch will present the music of the Andy Rossoff Quartet from 11:30 to 2:00. Later on that day the Sunday Supper will feature the lovely musician Hilarie Wilt from 6 to 8:00. In keeping with a long-standing tradition, Monday Blues will bring you the Hip Replacements from 6 to 8:00. And finally, the 2-Course $25 Tuesday Supper will feature the music from Paul Kemp from 6 to 8:00. Reservations are strongly recommended…

Mike Guarniero

Mike has been playing professionally, both acoustic and electric, for 40+ years. He paid his dues in a robust Sonoma County music scene during the '80s and '90s, then DJ'd for 10 years after moving to Lake County in 1996.
