Lake County Music Guide – 4.25.23

Robin Williams once said, “Spring is Nature’s way of saying ‘Let’s Party’!” True dat! And it seems to have finally joined us. Time to get out and see what it’s all about. Here’s the live music guide for the week of 4/25 to 5/2…

It’s Tuesday, and you know what day that is. Right – the official first day of the week. And Kelseyville Brewing in K’ville is ready to start things off right with some fine handcrafted beers, ales and seltzers, plus the music of Buskin’ for Brewskis from 3 to 6:00. What else is there to do on a Tuesday afternoon? Hope to see you there.

Wine in the Willows in Lakeport will host another “Wine Down Wednesday” featuring Joseph Bain and David Sammel from 3 to 6:00. This place is all about wine, art, beer and Music.

It’s always a fun time at the Hopland Taps’ exceptional Invitational Blues Jam on Wednesday, from 7 to 10:00. With a house band that includes Wendy DeWitt, Kirk Harwood and Pierre Archain, plus guitar players Dave Baas and John Powers, it’s over the top rockin’ good stuff. Let’s see how fun it is this week…

If you wanna shake it to some Blues, Dave Broida and Blues Farm, who are playing at the Saw Shop Public House in Kelseyville this Thursday evening from 6 to 9:00 will give you just what you came for. Add to that an excellent menu and a full bar, what more can you ask for? Then for their Sunday Brunch, local guy Jim Williams will give you the strum and sing while you munch a bunch of brunch from 11 to 1:30. Can you say “Mimosas”?… Reservations are recommended…

Andre’s Lounge will feature the spectacular music of Blue Hour on Thursday starting at 8:30. A perfectly intimate band in a most intimate venue. Go see what Andre’s done with the place…

The Smiling Dogs Tasting Room in Kelseyville on Friday will bring you some of the best award-winning wines you’ll find in The LC, by the bottle or the glass, plus the music of Margo and Friends from 6:30 to 9:30. Salute!

I’d like to welcome the Main Street Bar and Grill in Clearlake where on Friday and Saturday nights, they’ll feature the music of Tom Drinnon starting at 8:30. I’m hearing good reviews on this performer. He’s got some vids on Facebook – check ‘em out, then check ‘im out…

It’s gonna be rockin’ at Twin Pine Casino in Middletown on Friday and Saturday nights when Sons of Rock ‘n’ Roll take the stage from 9 to 1: AM. Could be your lucky night…

The Farmer’s Finest Farmers Market at the Shannon Ridge Mercantile Bldg in Finley will feature fresh, locally grown fruit, veggies and plants, plus an assortment of hand-crafted items you just can’t live without. Also, there’ll be live music provided by Mark and Melissa Enyeart from 10: AM to 1:00. So, let’s recap – produce, handmade items, music and wine tasting – it’s a one-stop-shop!

It’s another “Grown-up Prom Night” at the Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill in Kelseyville on Saturday from 5 to 8:00. I’m not sure if there’s live music but if you’ve attended this event before, you already know how much fun it is. Don’t forget the corsage…

The Thirsty Axe in Ukiah will present the music of Valle Exclusivo on Friday from 4 to 8:00.

Anderson Valley Brewing in Boonville will present the Buckridge Racket Club on Friday from 5:30 to 8:30.

The Sports Attic 2 in Ukiah will bring you the music of Soul Circus from 7 to 10:00. This band features a fantastic singer, Robin Suzanne. Check ‘em out…

Coyote Valley Casino in Redwood Valley will feature the music of the LC Diamonds on Friday from 7:00.

McCarty’s Bar in Redwood Valley will host the performance of Tastes Like Chicken on Saturday starting at 8:00.

The Willits Community Theater will feature The Real Sarahs with Alex DeGrassi on Sunday starting at 2:00. Cost is $25.

Karaoke Korner

Twin Pine Casino will host Karaoke on Thursday from 7 to 10:00.

T-Up in Ukiah will host Karaoke on Friday starting at 6:00.

The Riviera Hills Lounge will host Karaoke on Friday from 6 to 10:00.

Robinson Rancheria Casino will host Karaoke on Friday from 10 to 1:AM.

The Hot Cow B.A.G. will host Karaoke on Saturday from 6 to 10:00.

The Brick Tavern will host Karaoke on Sunday from 6 to 9:00.

Ah, it’s time for plantin’, weedin’, growin’ and playin’. It don’t get much better than that… So if you still have the energy to get out and check out the bounty of live music out there this week, have fun – but please stay safe…

Mike Guarniero

Mike has been playing professionally, both acoustic and electric, for 40+ years. He paid his dues in a robust Sonoma County music scene during the '80s and '90s, then DJ'd for 10 years after moving to Lake County in 1996. After retiring from his job of 26 years, because he recognized a growing local music scene, he decided to devote his time to playing live music again. He's never looked back. Along with his regular band, Dr. Groove, he has filled in on lead guitar for local bands, (Fargo Bros, Blues Farm, C.A.M. Band, Borrowed Time, Time Travelers). He's played acoustic guitar at a some of our local wineries, restaurants, farmers Markets and art galleries. He's also a semi-regular supporting various local Open Mics around Lake County. He writes and records original songs and has recorded original demos for other performers as well. For the last three years, he has posted on Facebook a local music guide called the Lake County Music Guide.
