I am breathless! This weekend is Memorial Weekend, and that’s only one of five events that kick off the Summer. The other four are – Lower Lake Daze, Reggae by the Lake Konocti Vista Concerts, Konocti Harbor Concerts, and lastly, Tommy Rox is back in The LC for the Summer. I can already smell the scents of tanning butter and BBQ wafting through the air! But grab those reins tight, there’s mucho musica happenin’ this week. Here’s the live music schedule for the week of 5/19 through 5/26…

Let’s start things off with an announcement and an FYI: if you bought tix to see the Mighty Mike Schermer Concert with Conversation at the Blue Wing Saloon on 5/31, unfortunately, due to scheduling issues, this show has been canceled, and your tickets will be refunded…

On Tuesday afternoon at the Kelsey Creek Brewing in K’ville, where we are just two weeks away from their 10th Anniversary Celebration, where handcrafted beers, ales, stouts and seltzers are always in abundance, and where you can also listen to the music of Buskin’ for Brewskis, which is about one month away from celebrating their own 5 years of providing music on Tuesdays at the brewery. So much celebration, too little time…

At Clear Lake Grange #680 in Finley it’ll be a special night of music from Mendocino County’s very own Pavlos Garage playing from 6:30 to 9:30. Doors open at 6:00 and cost will be $15 for non-members. “Everyone is welcome to our monthly gigs – with optional Pot Luck , BYO bevs, Live Music, Friendship.

It’s quite the Party every month”…

Out in Lakeport at Andre’s Lounge there’s an Open Mic event, open to all performers, on Tuesday evening from 7 to 10:00. Then on Wednesday you can catch pianist Nicky Hinds playing original compositions and popular tunes from 7 to 9:00. Come see what Andre’s done with the place…

It’ll be another Veterans Supper at the Moose Lodge #2284 in Clearlake Oaks on Wednesday from 5 to 7 and featuring the music of Chris Grant. They have a full bar and a big dance floor, and Chris is a great performer…

Back to Lakeport at the On the Waterfront Restaurant, (voted in the top 5 in Lake County), every Wednesday they host “Wednesdays Unplugged”, where a local performer plays music while you dine – this week it’ll be Margo Fleming from 6 to 8:00. Then on Mondays come on out for Local Musicians Monday where some of our favorite local players drop by to perform a few songs from 5 to 7:00…

Back to Clearlake Oaks at Buddy’s Coffeehouse, you can catch a performance of the Al G Bloome Project on Thursday from 4 to 7-ish. They sell coffee drinks and snacks. You’ll love the AGBP…

Back to the center of the universe, where at the Saw Shop Public House in Kelseyville enjoy a great meal, bevs from a full bar, and also you can catch on Thursday evening the golden tones and tunes from Tom Drinnon from 6 to 9:00. Then on Friday evening Beatz Werkin’ will rock your world from 6 to 9:00. And wrapping it all up on Saturday will be AudioSoul laying down R&B, Blues, Funk, Soul and Rock from 6 to 9, Dudes! Say hi to Weston while you’re there…

On Friday afternoon the Middletown Farmers Market, where you can stock up on fresh locally grown fruit and vegetables, handcrafted items you just can’t live without, plus you can also hear the music of Wally, (from the Al G Bloome Project), from 4:30 to 8:30. Food and bevs will be sold from a variety of vendors…

On Friday at Richmond Park Bar ‘n’ Grill in the lower Rivi-area, it’s official – The Man, The Myth, The Legend – Tommy Rox is back and ready to rock the deck starting at 5:00. Then on Saturday evening the Lost Coast Smugglers and Gnada will Ramp up the Rock from 7 to 11:00. And on Sunday and Monday T-Rox will be back rockin’ The Park back both days from 2 to 5:00. It’s always a party at The Park…

At Harlowes Lounge in Lakeport on Friday, you can get a great meal, bevs from a full bar, and as a special treat, the music of Brandon Eardley from 6 to 10:00. This could be the new perfect place for Date Night…

Take a step up the mountain on Friday, where at Adams Springs Golf Course, you can catch the music of Anthony Crawford and Savana Lee starting around 6:00. Both Anthony and Savana played occasionally with Neil Young from 1980 through 2010, and together as Sugarcane Jane. Opening for them will be Cobb Royalty, the Prather Bros, who started back in the 1970’s, but the original line-up will play its final gig this Friday. Free to all and outdoors on the patio. Good food, full bar, and fun times…

Back to Kelseyville, where at the Smiling Dogs Tasting Room, you can enjoy your favorite SDR wines while listening to the music of Mark Smith from 6:30 to 9:30…

Back to Middletown, where at the Martin Pohl’s Wine Tasting Room (formerly the Boar’s Breath), you can enjoy organic wines while you catch the music of Wade Skeels from 7 to 9:00…

Also in Middletown, Twin Pine Casino will feature on Friday and Saturday the music of Rebel from 9 to 1:00. Pull a few handles, grab a meal and bevs – could be your lucky night!…

It just ain’t Memorial Day without the Lower Lake Daze Parade and Street Fair on Saturday, 5/23, from 10:AM to 3:00. The parade starts at 11:00, plus there will be food trucks, vendors, local merchants, lots of family-friendly activities, including live music (although I have no idea who is playing). Kick off your Summer at the Daze…

Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill in Kelseyville will celebrate the Memorial weekend with two days of live music, Saturday with Tom Drinnon and Sunday with Mark Smith. Good wines and good music make for a great celebration…

Out at the Buckingham Golf & Country Club, there will be a “Greens & Groove Scramble Event” where 10 four-man teams compete for the prize, at $125 per player starting at 11:30. Later, all who attend will be treated to the outstanding music of Soul Circus at 3:00. Be whisper quiet during the match, then let it all out when the band starts playing…

On Saturday at the Shannon Ridge Mercantile in Finley, the fun begins from 4 to 7:00 when the hairiest of hair bands, Aqua Net, rocks the patio with some of your favorite ‘80s Rock Music. There is usually a gourmet food truck to satisfy your hunger and plenty of Shannon Ridge wines to make it a fun afternoon to remember…

At the Running Creek Casino in Upper Lake, they will be celebrating their 14th Anniversary on Saturday, starting at 4:00 and featuring Native Dance, food, and crafts, plus fireworks, along with the music of Burke…

And, on Saturday, it’s time for the Konocti Vista Casino Music on the Lake Free Summer Concert Series, which is not always Reggae, but mostly Reggae. This time they will feature the Reggae music of Yellowman with openers, Irie Rockers starting at 6:00. There will be food, bevs available, bring a chair or a blanket at come sit on the lawn, then groove…

For awesome sunset views, good food, and a full bar, you can’t go wrong at the Riviera Hills Lounge, where on Saturday evening from 6 to 10:00 you can dance to the Classic Rock hits from Roadhouse. Get there early, stay late…

Back up on the mountain, the Loch Lomand Roadhouse will feature the music of Wally from 7 to 10:00. Good food, full bar, and Wally. Enjoy some fresh air…

Get this, folks! Konocti Harbor Resort will have a pair of Tribute bands – Journey Revisited and Deff Leppard Revisited bringing you back to those heady days of ‘70s and ‘80s Classic Rock starting at 8:30. Tix are $45 – $75 if you wanna eat from the Buffet Dinner per attendee. Be sure to bring your BIC lighters…

At Robinsons Rancheria Casino in Nice, you can hit the slots, roll some dice, spin the wheel, have a meal and beverages, then get your dance on with Matt Rainey and the Dippin’ Sauce from 9:30 to 1:30. Could be your lucky night…

In that nice little town of Nice, you can enjoy a good meal and beverages from a full bar while taking in the music of Fogg Revisited from 3 to 7:00. Imagine listening to Pink Floyd if Floyd were a Classic Rock cover band. Can’t think of a better way to round out your weekend…

And for something really different, at the Clearlake Community Center, they will feature on Sunday afternoon the Killer Dueling Pianos, free, from 5 to 7:30. I remember in Dallas, Texas, I saw a Dueling Piano team, not sure if it’s the same, but they were hilarious! If you can catch these guys, please do. Food and bevs will be sold at the event. Donations will be accepted to go back to the Senior Center and the Rotary Club of Clear Lake, who are among the sponsors of this event…

And now to my favorite part of the music guide, (it usually means I’m finally done with this week’s music guide), the Blue Wing Saloon always has 6 shows in 5 days, starting with Friday Paul Kemp and bassist Pierre Archain will play jazz Standards from 6 to 8:00. Then on Saturday balladeer Chris Forshay will make your evening meal that much more enjoyable, from 6 to 8:00. For the Sunday Brunch expect a special breakfast menu that pairs perfectly with the music of Good Measure from 11:30 to 2:00. For the Sunday Supper you will be treated to the music of the lovely songstress Hilarie Wilt from 6 to 8:00. And in continuing in the long standing tradition of excellent Blues Music on Mondays, Dave Broida and Blues Farm will bring you the 1,4,5 from 6 to 8:00. And last but not least, famous musician and pianist, Paul Kemp will show you why the Tuesday Mid-week $25 Supper Special is sooooo good – from 6 to 8:00. If you plan on attending one of these events, reservations are strongly suggested…

Karaoke Korner

Richmond Park will have Karaoke on Wednesday at 6:00.

Robinson Rancheria Casino on Thursday from 9 to Midnight.

Andre’s Lounge on Thursday – 6 to 10:00.

The Riviera Hills Lounge is on Friday from 6 to 10:00.

Nobles Saloon will have Karaoke on Friday starting at 8:00.

The Moose Lodge CLO has Karaoke on 2nd and 4th Friday at 6:00.

And, finally, a reminder that on Thursday, the Umpqua Bank in Lakeport and Tango Mike hold a Monthly Packing Party where snacks and other items are sent to our service personnel overseas to brighten their lives while away from home. Starts at 6:00.

With the end of May coming up quickly and June just around the corner, I just want to give you a heads up on events happening soon; The Lakeport Concert Series begins June 12th, while my favorite event, the Kelseyville Kickin’ in the Country Street Dance, begins June 18th. Yup, Summer is officially here! So, if and when you go out this week to enjoy the bounty of live music the county offers, have fun – but please stay safe…
