It was so much fun last week, let’s all do it again! This week, there’ll be two really big events: The Lakeside Jam Pre-Party Concert on Friday, as well as the 1st Sunday Open Jam (on the last Sunday of May – hey, they’re flexible…). Out in Lakeport at Andre’s Lounge, there’s an Open Mic event, open to all performers, on Tuesday evening from 7 to 10:00. Then on Wednesday, you can catch pianist Nicky Hinds playing original compositions and popular tunes from 7 to 9:00. Come see what Andre’s done with the place…
It’ll be another Wimpy Burger Wednesday at the Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge #2284, featuring the music of Broken Trucks with special guest Richard Boisselle from 5 to 7:00. Back to the center of the universe, where at the Saw Shop Public House, they serve great food, have a full bar, and on Thursday, you can enjoy the musical elements that re-create the iconic beach sounds from The Vultures from 6 to 9:00. Cowabunga, Baby! Then on Friday evening, come put your dancin’ shoes to the test when AudioSoul takes the stage from 6 to 9, Dudes! (FYI, it’s Bass player Terry Fluharty’s birthday…). For the Sunday Brunch, expect Duo Nouveau to pair nicely to wherever the special menu takes you from 11:30 to 1:00. Then it the Sunday Night with Nancy Wright where our favorite sax specialist joins forces with the Mutt and Jeff of Blues Music, Tall Paul Dowling and Dave Falco for a fun night from 6 to 8:00. For the Monday Night Blues Series, Those Guys will prove there’s more than 12 bars – from 6 to 8:00. Then, leaving the best for last, the Tuesday Mid-Week $25 Supper Special Extravaganza Stellar Music Extraordinary Event will feature famous musician, Paul Kemp tinkling the ivories from 6 to 8:00. And now it’s time to eat – I’m hungry! I pride myself on being the “Kitchen Sink Gourmet,” usually mixing leftovers that should never ever touch the same plate. Imagine a gelatinous aspic of overboiled tripe and canned peas, bathed in a warm, separated mayonnaise, served on pasta topped with a sour fruit yogurt, eaten in complete darkness. Anybody wanna join me for supper? Gee, I can’t imagine why I’m still single! Sigh… So, if and when you go out this week to enjoy the bounty of live music the county has to offer, have fun – but please stay safe…
