Lake County Music Guide – 7.2.24

Since I write this up on Monday and Monday the 1st, I’m also paying my monthly bills. It’s gonna be a long day! And it’s gonna get hot – and I ain’t just talkin’ ‘bout the temps – there’s a whole lotta live music happening this 4th of July Week. Plus, I’ll try to list all the 4th of July parades, concerts, and fireworks displays in the last section of the guide. So, let’s get started – here’s the live music schedule for the week of 7/2 through 7/8…

The Farmer’s Finest Farmers Market at Library Park in Lakeport will feature fresh, locally grown Fruit and Vegetables, plus an assortment of fine handcrafted items you just can’t live without – all from 10 AM to 1:00. Live music will be provided by David Neft. Then, later on Saturday, the FFFM jumps over to the Mercantile Tasting Room in Finley where you’ll find much of the same, including David Neft. Plus, the tasting room opens at 11:00, so you can stock up on your faves. It’s truly a one-stop-shop, folks…

On Tuesday afternoon at the Kelsey Creek Brewing in K’ville you’re gonna find an assortment of fine handcrafted beers, ales and seltzers on tap, all with funny names, that will pair perfectly with the acoustic guitar music of Buskin’ for Brewskies, all from 3 to 6:00. It’ll be hot outside, but ice cold inside… Then on Sunday afternoon things will be back to normal when the Cowboy Johnson Show returns where CJ will be joined by Kraig Jillson and Mike Guarniero, also from 3 to 6:00. Hot damn!…

Andre’s Lounge in Lakeport will have its usual music schedule this week. On Wednesday evening from 7 to 9:00 you’ll find Nicky Hind doing his piano thing. On Friday night Andre and Friends will soothe your worried souls with song from 8 to 11:00. Then on Saturday from 8 to 11:00 guitarist/singer Bill Vanderwall will bring on the “Dad Rock”. Come see what Andre’s done with the place…

At the Hopland Tap ‘n’ Grill you can expect enough energy to power NorCal on Wednesday evening when Wendy DeWitt gives you the boogie woogies from 4 to 6. Then from 7 to 10:00, she’ll be joined by Kirk, Pierre, Dave, and John for the Invitational Blues Jam, where they often bring in some brand-name Bay Area Blues artists to really get the place jumpin’. Food, bevs, dancin’ and music – what’s stoppin’ ya?…

On Saturday afternoon the Time Travelers rock the joint from 2 to 6:00, then it’s back to Tommy Rox rockin’ it on Sunday from 2 to 6:00. Hope I got all this correct…

Out in Lakeport on Wednesday evening the Soper-Reese Theater will present Jacob Jolliff and Band, starting at 7:00. His mandolin playing is legendary among Bluegrass aficionados, and he has played with many of the greats. Cost will be $25 and the dance floor will be open. Thank you for supporting the Soper-Reese…

From here one can probably see the high-flying explosions in the sky from both Lakeport and Clearlake as well as the KHR fireworks display. Then on Saturday starting at 8:00, come shake yer tail feathers to the outstanding Pride & Joy SF. I love our Funky Dozen, but this band is IMHO without a doubt the best party dance band in Northern California. I busted a move to them back in the 1980’s and they’re still going strong. Cover charge will be $30.

Stein and Wein in Clearlake will host a 4th July of Pre-Fireworks Party with music from Manzanita Machine starting at 6:00. Come enjoy a brat and a brew before the fireworks at Austin Park begin…

Back to Lakeport where the 1st Friday Fling at the Main Street Gallery will bring you excellent works from local artists, and where Linda Brown will bring you Celtic Harp Bliss from 5:30 to 7:00. Always wine and snacks on hand while you’re checking out the art…

Over at the Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course it’s gonna be another Concert on the Green this coming Friday when you can have your world rocked by the Funky Dozen starting at 6:00. There should be plenty of food, bevs, an assortment of hand-crafted items, but Fun-12 are the draw. Be prepared to dance…

Come for a bit of Reggae at Konocti Vista Casino in Lakeport on Saturday from 6 to 9:00 where they will feature the music of Jwadi, Marlon Asher and Rootsmanproject. Once you get caught up in this hypnotic music, you won’t stop until it’s over, maybe not even then…

The Riviera Hills Lounge in the Riviera will bring you a nice meal, a full bar, and, on Saturday evening, the groove music of Groovy Judy from 6 to 10:00. Catch some of the most outstanding sunset views while you’re dancin’ in the groove…

At the Boathouse Bar/Stowaway Grill in that nice little town of Nice you can find the rockin’ good music from the ever-popular LC Diamonds wafting over the airwaves on Sunday from 3 to 7:00. Great food and a full bar, lots of umbrellas, but wear a hat just to be safe…

Just up the street at the Running Creek Casino in Upper Lake on Sunday you’ll find the musical genius and mayhem of the Fargo Bros rockin’ the Casino from 5 to 9:00. I had a steak here once that was without a doubt the best steak I’ve ever had in The LC…

Well, we’ve suffered one casualty from this week’s predicted hot weather – no Kelseyville Street Dance. If the temps are 100 degrees, the asphalt temps are going to be about 160 degrees. Hotter than a matchhead, Dude! Needless to say, everybody try to keep cool. If you go out, stay hydrated, wear loose clothing, a hat, and stay hydrated! Can’t say that enough. So if and hen you go out this 4th of July week to enjoy the bounty of music happening here in the county, have fun, but please please be safe…
