Hey Folks, Because the LC Fair starts August 29th, I just wanted to remind you that this 4-day fest is chock full of musical events that will feature many of our favorite local bands. The line-up will include The Andy Rossoff Trio, Still Kickin’, Beatz Werkin’, The Hip Replacements, Pierre Archain, Audio Soul, The Majide Trio, Irma Lopez, Stevie & the Shufflenuts, and Austin and Owens. A week from now I will post their schedules so you can make plans when to go. Personally, I just go for the corndogs and beer, but there’s so many other featured events that you all might like even better, (although, really, what’s better than corndogs and beer?)… In the meantime, the weather will be much more forgiving during these next couple of weeks, so there should be no excuse for not catching some of your favorite live music. Plus, it’s gonna be a week of “lasts”, where some of our outdoor Summer events will offer their last presentation of the year. Here’s the live music schedule for the week of 8/13 through 8/19…
The Kelsey Creek Brewing in K’ville always provides you with many choices of their fine handcrafted beers, ales and seltzers, all of which with funny names, and on Tuesday, all which pairs nicely with the acoustic guitar music of Buskin’ for Brewskis – all this and more from 3 to 6:00. Later this week, on Sunday it’s the Cowboy Johnson Show, with a little help from his friends – Mike, Kraig and whoever else shows up to play, also from 3 to 6:00. Brews will pour and tunes will flow…
Out in Clearlake Oaks at the Moose Lodge, it’s another Wimpy Burger Wednesday that will feature the vocal tones of Anthony Neves from 5:30 to 7:00. It’s a great burger that’s available to Moosies and Non-Moosies alike…
In Lower Lake at Maynard’s Sports Bar, local impresario Chris Grant will host an Open Mic on Wednesday starting about 6:00. (pls call to confirm times…). It’s a full bar and there’s some pretty good talent living in the Lower Lake area. Open to all performers…
The Smiling Dogs Ranch in Kelseyville, (not to be confused by the tasting room), on Wednesday will present a pool party atmosphere where you can dance to the New Orleans based music and Jazz from the Andy Rossoff Quintet, (I think that means a total 5 dudes…), from 5:30 to 8:30. Enjoy some SDR Wines from the bottle or glass and enjoy the tunes. It’s all outdoors, so be sure to bring a chair, a hat, sunglasses, maybe a picnic and definitely a taste for The Big Easy…

Back in the center of the universe, the Saw Shop Public House in Kelseyville will feature excellent food, a full bar, and on Thursday the music of Stevie & the Shufflenuts from 6 to 9:00. Then on Friday you’ll get much of the same, but this time with music from Margo & Friends, from 6 to 9:00. Then on Saturday evening the music is brought to you from Beatz Werkin’ from 6 to 9:00. On The Waterfront Restaurant in Lakeport, across from the boat ramp at Library Park, offers great food, an excellent and extensive wine and brew list, and on Thursday evening the awesome sauce voice known only as Anthony Neves, (his friends call him Tony), from 6 to 9:00. Then on Saturday you can catch the melodious tunes of Dr Groove and the Revenge from 6 to 9:00. Check this place out, you’ll love it!
I’m excited about this event! The Kelseyville Kickin’ in the Country Street Dance will feature this Thursday from 7 to 9:30 the Rockabilly, Swing, Blues, Country and Americana music of Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys. I’ve been diggin’ these dudes for about 30 years. Rockin’ good fun! The Middletown Farmers Market at the Library/Senior Center Park is the place to be on Friday afternoon from 4:30 to 8:30, mostly because here you can stock up on some fresh, locally grown fruit and vegetables and some really unique hand-crafted items you just can’t live without. One of the premier summer events is the Lakeport Summer Concert where on Friday evening the band, Decades will rock this town from 6:30 to 8:30. Be sure to bring a blanket or a chair, a hat, sunglasses, a picnin, (but there will be food vendors there just in case…), and a love for some great music from many Decades.
Just up the street at the Middletown Art Center later on Friday evening there will be a Leo/Virgo Party, much like those presented by the Bubblemeister in days past and featuring the harmonica magic of Dave Broida and Blues Farm from 7 to 10:30. Richmond Park Bar ‘n’ Grill in the bayside Riviera will bring you hot food, a full bar, and on Friday evening the HOT, HOT, HOT music of Soul Circus from 8 to 11:00. Then on Saturday afternoon those fargin Fargo Bros will rock yer world from 2 to 5:00. They appropriately open up for the fishing tournament at 8:00. Then on Sunday it’s another chance to see the new band, (with semi-familiar name), Dr Groove and the Revenge playing from 1 to 5:00. On Saturday morning from 10:AM to 1:00, the world-famous Farmer’s Finest Farmers Market at the Mercantile in Finley will bring you some fresh, locally grown fruit and vegetables and some really unique hand-crafted items you just can’t live without. Add to that food vendors satisfying your hunger and live music and the Mercantile Tasting Room opens at 11:00 so you can also stock up on your favorite Shannon Ridge wines.
