I am happy to present to you our twelfth local business spotlighted in the Pay it Forward feature – Rock N’ Rolled Ice Cream.
Our recent Lake County business featured was Jon Martin & Nick Hough, owners of Stitched Designs LLC, who chose to Pay it Forward to Baylee Grove, owner of Rock N’ Rolled Ice Cream.
The catch is that I will not choose the next business to interview, but the current spotlighted business will choose who I will interview next. Local businesses will Pay it Forward.
Rock N’ Rolled Ice Cream is a locally owned and operated custom ice cream shop with fresh ice cream made and rolled right in front of you. They make their five bases – vanilla, chocolate, matcha, coffee and salted caramel in house every day, along with waffle tacos, crepes, and paninis.
They also provide a vegan option. With 5-star reviews and toppings through the roof, milkshakes, floats and a variety of delicious drinks, sauces, and infused flavors – Rock N’ Rolled Ice Cream is a must-visit.
Summer is here! You know where to satisfy your cravings on these hot days. Baylee’s ice cream shop is located in Hidden Valley Lake and has achieved a high positive rating from their customers.
1. Why did you decide to start your own business?
Ever since I was a little girl, my fondest memories were going to ice cream shops with my family and making happy memories. I wanted to bring it to our community so that everyone can experience the same joy it brought me as a child.
2. How do you deal with fear and doubt?
Whenever I have fear or doubt, when it comes to my business, I go to my mom and she reassures me everything will be okay.
3. How does your business look different now vs. when you first started?
When I first started Rock N Rolled it was just mobile. I went to any event that I could go to – now I have a shop in Hidden Valley.
4. How do you set your business apart from others in your industry?
What sets me apart from anyone else is that not only is the ice cream freshly made every day, but you also get to watch your ice cream get made right in front of you. You can also get creative and create your own ice cream flavor. I really wanted to create a unique experience unlike anything else.
5. What is the hardest part of being an entrepreneur?
In my opinion, the hardest part of being an entrepreneur is never having a day off, as well as trying to balance my personal life with my shop open. Also, trying to make sure that my shop runs smoothly without me there.
6. What is your favorite part of being an entrepreneur?
My favorite part of being an entrepreneur is that I can have any creativity with my business, and I can take it as far as I want to, as well as seeing all the happy faces once they consume my product.
7. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would be Italy. I would love to see all the scenery, visiting my foreign exchange brother, along with trying all of the food they have to offer.
