Local author and life coach Mimi Whittaker is shining a light on the extraordinary citizens of Lake County in her new book, “Lake County Diamonds: Ten Remarkable People from Lake County, CA.” Whittaker will visit several branches of the Lake County Library to read a short excerpt from Lake County Diamonds and sign copies of her book.

The Lake County Library’s Adult Literacy Program has scheduled a new Virtual Literacy Tutor Training for June 2022. The training consists of two 2-hour sessions on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, and Thursday, June 30, 2022. The training will take place on Zoom from 11 am to 1 pm for both required sessions. They will be hosted by the Adult Literacy Program Coordinator, Georgina Marie Guardado, and facilitated by Lake County Literacy Coalition Board Member and Literacy Tutor Pam Klier.
In partnership with Blue Zones Project Lake County, the Lake County Library hosted several discussions, cooking classes, and walking groups all designed to help patrons apply the principles of The Blue Zones of Happiness: Lessons From the World’s Happiest People by Dan Buettner. All events were free to the public, and free copies of the book were made available to the public.
