Produced by the European Southern Observatory, From Earth to the Universe is a stunning 30-minute voyage through space and time that, through sparkling sights and sounds, reveals the Universe as science has uncovered it. Viewers can revel in the splendor of the worlds in the Solar System and our scorching Sun. From Earth to the Universe, the film takes the audience to the colorful birthplaces and burial grounds of stars, and even farther out, beyond the Milky Way, to the unimaginable immensity of myriad galaxies.
Along the way, the audience will learn about the history of astronomy, the invention of the telescope, and today’s giant telescopes that allow us to probe ever deeper into the Universe.
After this one-hour planetarium show (weather permitting), guests are invited to view the night sky through the Observatory’s telescopes.
Whether you’re a seasoned astronomer or just curious about the cosmos, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience. This event is open to all Lake County families. Lake County Office of Education Astronomy expert Angelo Parisi will host this event. For more information, contact Angelo Parisi at aparisi@lakecoe.org
