Uncover the Secrets of the Painted Bird in Kelseyville

Calypso, by Ben vanSteenburgh

Just two years old, The Painted Bird has become a must-visit when you are exploring Lake County. It resides in a charming courtyard (feels like New Orleans) on Main Street, downtown Kelseyville which is quickly becoming a favorite northern CA destination. Incredible art makes this intimate gallery an experience not to be missed.

Currently, Ben vanSteenburgh, nationally known painter, is showcasing his 24K gold “Japanese Kano screen” inspired art as well as his beguiling figures, including “Little Red Riding Hood and Her Wolf”, a sought-after print.

You can enjoy Terry Church’s much-admired assemblage pieces that are beautiful, bold and thought-provoking often with sly humor and intense visual impact. Terry’s newest “kitchenware” group is a delightful, fun focal point for any kitchen wall.

Renata Jaworska’s sculptures capture the imagination, from her “quidditch broom”, stunning standing tree metal coat hangers and charming tables in heavy metal, to her daring plaster sculptures.

Two newcomers to the gallery have added their amazing talent to the mix.

Pierre Cutler is showing his beautifully rendered photos that capture remarkable visual scenes in black and white. His train station conductor captures a moment in time that haunts and the undulating path is mesmerizing. His dramatic, colorful “edibles” seem timeless.

If you want something to truly charm your friends and family the hand-painted watercolors cards by Peggy Kimiecik are delicate and much in demand. Her lovely watercolor paintings are beautiful and timeless.
