ART WALK UKIAH
People & Places: Works by Cottie Morrison & Janet Rosen

The Ukiah Branch Library invites the community to join us for our Art Walk openings on Friday, September 4 and Friday, October 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. The library will feature a mixed-media and oil-painting show by local artists Cottie Morrison and Janet Rosen. “People and Places” is an art show by longtime friends Morrison and Rosen. While working separately in their studios, they have each created evocative portraiture that invites the viewer to join the subject’s interior world. The landscapes and interiors are just as important to the portrait as to how the subject is rendered.

On September 4, the branch will host live music by harpist Suni Robin and an in-person creative program exploring portrait and landscape painting using multimedia. On October 2, the branch will host live music. During both Art Walk openings, guests can shop at the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library book sale.

This art exhibition is free to the public, open to all ages, and is sponsored by the kind and generous support of the Mendocino County Library and the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library. The exhibit runs September 2 to October 29, 2026. For more information, please visit www.mendolibrary.org or contact the Ukiah Branch at 707-463-4490.

NOTHING LIKE HOME-GROWN TOMATOES!
A Tomato Tasting at the Ukiah Branch Library

Join us at the Ukiah Branch Library on Tuesday, September 22 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for a tomato tasting. These tomatoes will be homegrown beauties, non-hybrid varieties provided by local gardeners. If you have a favorite tomato from your garden that you would like to contribute to this delicious event, please bring them to share. Staff and volunteers will demonstrate how to save seeds from tomatoes, too.

This event is for all ages, free of charge, and sponsored by the Mendocino County Library. If you have any questions, please contact the Ukiah Branch Library at 707-463-4490 or visit our website at www.mendolibrary.org.
