What’s Up This Week – 3.22.24

While driving this week, I saw something I’d never seen before, and that’s saying a lot when you consider how many years I’ve been driving. While stopped at a stop light, I glanced at the pickup truck beside me and noticed an older man smoking a pipe. Not that unusual, right? What surprised me was the parrot next to him in the passenger seat, perched on a PVC pipe! Imagine a car seat for a bird, and you get the picture. The parrot and the older gentleman chatted before he drove off, the parrot taking in the view just as a dog would do. Now that is a first.

This week, we’ll get things started with a little road trip to one of my favorite diners. Next, Kathleen Scavone tells us all about Putah Creek and, of course, the history that goes with it. Then, take a minute for this week’s Our Voice column, the Music Guide, some good news, and a good dose of local history. Friends, Spring is here, the lake is full, and we have so much to be grateful for as we enjoy a little more rain this weekend. A little more rain puts off fire season another week–that’s how to not complain about the wet weather this time of year. Have a great weekend, Lake County!
