Visions Art Gallery, home of the Lake County Arts Council, will host a Writer’s Showcase on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The free event will feature local authors Dan Barth and Hal Zina Bennett, who will share readings spanning poetry and spiritual writing.
The showcase will take place at the gallery, located at 500 N. Main Street, Lakeport, CA.
Hal Zina Bennett is the author of several works exploring consciousness and personal growth, including The Lens of Perception: A User’s Guide to Higher Consciousness, White Mountain Blues, and First Light, Then Quiet. His writing blends storytelling with spiritual reflection, drawing on decades of work in the personal-growth genre.
Dan Barth is a poet and prose writer whose books include The Day After Hank Williams’ Birthday: Prose Pieces & Poems, At the Corner of Vigor and Wisdom: New and Used Poems, and Fast Women Beautiful: Zen Beat Baseball Poems. His work reflects an eclectic range of subjects, from everyday observation to wry humor, delivered in the tradition of beat-inspired verse.
Attendees can look forward to live readings from both authors, an opportunity to hear directly from the writers about their creative processes, and a chance to purchase or have copies of their books signed.
